Different Forage For Sheep

The Moreno Sheep is a grazing animal. All over the world it lives on living plants -- mostly grass.

Only in the US have animals been forced into feeding pens!

The US ranchers figure their profits on the basis of the number of pounds of meat they can product with so much dollars worth of the cheapest food they can use.

The ranchers outside of the US are more interested in raising sheep for their wool and leather. For years these non-US ranchers have known that "corn" and other cheap foods do NOT help a sheep produce high quality wool or leather, so the use of "natural grazing" has been common and emphasizing outside the US.

Even as ranchers used the natural grazing in whatever areas they lived, they were interested in improving the quality (and value) of the wool and leather, and started the research into the natural foods which their sheep were already eating.

It became obvious, for instance, that the same "breed" of sheep in one area produced high quality wool, while that same sheep on different land produced lower quality wool and leather.

It was not long before the profit margins of high quality wool drove these ranchers into paying for research into the differences in the forage material for sheep in different areas.

That story is told on these pages in considerable detail -- but it soon became obvious that when there was more SULFUR in the food stock, the sheep produced better quality of wool and leather.

When the US ranchers tried to increase the amount of meat on a sheep (remember, they were not much interested in wool or leather) they found that it wasn't worth the trouble. In the US sheep could be fattened without fancy research into sulfur.

So, the research into the sulfur content of the wool, the leather, the food of the non-US sheep went ahead grandly, and we have a great body of research data on the value of sulfur to the health of the skin (leather) the hair (wool) and nails (the hooves on horses, etc.).

So, take a look at the research results on these pages and keep in mind that US ranchers don't have much interest in sulfur, and therefore the great research on the results of using sulfur to improve skin did not get much notice among cosmetic manufacturers. Also, manufacturers of cosmetics have not been much interested in "natural" methods of improving the health of the skin -- it would not be easy to patent sulfur, for instance, or to make a "cosmetic" that could be different from other products while still concentrating on such a simple element -- sulfur.

OUR cream depends on a natural, organic form of sulfur which is very common in many areas of the world (MSM), but the Ayurvedic background of the originator of our cream has allowed us to greatly enhance the benefits of a simple "MSM Cream" in our Vibrant Skin Repair Cream -- not only with the content of organic sulfur, but the addition of a proprietary mixture and method of processing Ayurvedic herbs known for nourishment of the skin.
